Iwould like to make a point of the different writing/teaching syles of Aristotle and Socrates who we read previously. Socrates's used the socratic method of asking questions and letting his students answer themselves where Aristotle lets his explanation flow out straight and simple. In all honesty I'm having a difficult time transitioning between these styles. I'm so used to Socrates's way that it's making me over analyze Aristotle's writing. However I do enjoy the staightforwardness of Aritotle in contrast to Socrates and his questions.
I commented on Dallas and Ethan.
I completely understand that. I feel the same way. It is odd that they agreed on some things, had related thought processes, and made some similar points, but they did it in such different ways.
ReplyDeleteI also agree. It is very strange having to answer questions and have an active reading style, and then suddenly having to just accept information in a passive fashion.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Although, I think I like Aristotle's writing better. He seems to be straight forward and to the point. He writes what he wants to say without all the circles of questions.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Aristotle as opposed to Socrates since Aristotle tends to tie up all the loose ends instead of leaving it up to the reader.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Aristotle is definitely more straightforward and like it all flows together better.
