Nicomachean Ethics - Book 2

This reading was easier for me to comprehend and relate to than the readings of Plato, and I think that is because Aristotle works through issues/concepts through proofs and reasoning rather than a myriad of questionings. I agree with Aristotle’s beliefs that we are at our best when we have found a balance between excess and deficiency of something. His support and reasoning are well thought-out for each instance. I also agree with his definition of virtue – that it is not merely a feeling, but it is the action. We are composed of the choices we make (amongst other things), which determines our virtue. While our virtue is influenced by our feelings and our capabilities, it is namely comprised of the decisions we make. Those decisions determine how virtuous or unvirtuous we are.

I commented on Dallas’s and Darby’s posts!
