...you who have eyes but do not see...

It's kind of comical to me when Oedipus mocks Tiresias about being blind because it becomes apparent that Oedipus although physically able to see, is blind to aspects of his life and the sin which he is so deeply in. This is most obvious when Tiresias reveals to Oedipus that he is in fact the murderer, and the guilt he feels lets us know, it's not a charade. He is genuinely distraught by this news and depicts, I think, exactly what the Bible is talking about when it references "having eyes, but not seeing."
